DAY 1: ARRIVAL RWANDA -KIGALI

Meet and greet at Kinobe Airport by our representative from Orogu Tours and Travel who will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Kigali. Depending on the time of arrival, you are advised to have money changed on arrival. To get to know Kigali, you will visit some of the landmarks in town with the help of our driver/guide. Places may include; the genocide Memorial site, the markets, Franco-Rwanda Cultural centre. Overnight at your lodge BB

DAY 2: KIGALI – RUHENGERI

After breakfast take a two hours’ drive North of Kigali to Kinigi through the beautifully terraced hillside and the spectacular Virunga volcanoes. Proceed to Kinigi Park Headquarters to track gorillas in Pac Des National Volcan. Tracking through the dense forest is great adventure and thrill of observing the gorilla is rare, moving and exciting, though tough and tiresome. Once the gorillas are sighted it’s worth the input of time and effort. Overnight at your lodge FB

DAY 3: KINIGI

Today you have different options; you can choose to Gorilla track again which is subject to payment of supplement at the time of booking, or track the Golden monkeys, or climb the muhavura Volcanoes, or take a walk to Lake Bulera or drive to Gisenyi and visit Ross Carr’s orphanage and visit the local community or simply stay resting at the camp. DAY 4: KINIGI – BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast our destination is Bwindi Impenetrable Forest driving through the Kigezi Highlands a place known as the ‘Switzerland of Africa’ and catching your eye again are the beautifully terraced hillsides with the winding roads and the distant view of the volcanoes and lakes. Time permitting you can take a guided nature walk in the thick and dense forest which is a habitat for many types of game, several bird species and beautifully colored butterflies. DAY 5: GORILLA TREKKING

After an early morning breakfast proceed to the starting point to embark on your Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in such of the awesome Gorillas – an unforgettable experience of your lifetime. Don’t forget to carry your rain gear, packed lunch and plenty of water. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend with them an hour before returning to your lodge. Time allowing; take a community walk around the lodge. Overnight at your lodge FB

DAY 6: BWINDI NATIONAL PARK – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha to view the famous tree climbing lions. Overnight at your lodge FB

DAY 7: QUEEN ELIZABETH

Today we have an early morning game. Queen Elizabeth National Park is a home of abundant wildlife with grassy plains, and volcanic craters. You will have an excellent opportunity to see lion, leopard, giant forest hog, cape buffalo, elephants, defassa waterbuck, Uganda kob, topi and bushbuck. After lunch enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. It is a 42kms channel that joins Lake Edward and Lake George. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos. It offers and excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colourful and stupendous, with well over 550 resident species. Overnight at your lodge FB

DAY 8: QUEEN ELIZABETH

Go for an exciting nature walk to Maramagambo Forest to catch a glimpse of a variety of primates including chimpanzee. Visit the bat caves and the ‘Blue Lake’. Or visit Kyambura Gorge to track one of man’s closest relatives “chimpanzees” which are unpredictable to see because they are quite mobile but the walk is enchanting. Overnight at your lodge FB

DAY 9: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK


After breakfast transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Enter through the Nshara Gate. Afternoon game drive along the lakeshore track. With its own system of game trails and cleared walkways, the “Kigambara Loop” offers interesting guided lakeside walks. Find here

herds of Zebra, Cape buffalo and eland. Pribi and topi are easily approached. Along the game drive, many visitors enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo. Self-guided nature trails are also available. Birdwatchers will enjoy more than 250 species of birds found in Lake Mburo including papyrus Gonolek, Brown-faced Lapwing, Carruther’s Cisticola, the extraordinary White winged warbler and bare-faced go-away bird. DAY 10: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK – JINJA

After an early morning game drive to Jinja; with an en-route stop over at the  Equator, visit the royal drum makers have lunch and later proceed to Jinja the adventure capital. Overnight at your lodge FB

DAY 11: JINJA

You can either indulge yourself in a whole day White water rafting or visit the source of the Nile and relax at the Bujagali falls in the afternoon. Transfer to Kampala in the evening. Overnight at your lodge FB

DAY 12: DEPARTURE

Depending on your time of departure, get to know Kampala, you can visit some of the landmarks in town with the help of our driver/guide. Places may include; Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, Museums, craft markets and many others. Transport to Entebbe Airport ready to catch your flight back home.

7 Days Rwanda Enchanting Experience

Embark on an enchanting expedition to track the mountain Gorillas and the Golden monkeys in the Rainforest of Rwanda. You will visit the research center set up by Dian Fossey who spent 18 years of her life studying the gorillas in the Virunga mountains with the support of national Geographic. Encounter the big 5 while on safari at Akagera National Park and learn about the conservation efforts that the government of Rwanda is working on to restore the park with its flora and fauna.

Day 1:              Arrival.

Upon arrival at Kigali Airport, you will be received by our tourist driver guide and transferred to the hotel for an overnight stay. Alternatively depending on your arrival time you may check in at your hotel, have lunch and relax and later go for a city tour in Kigali.

Day 2:              Kigali/Volcanoes National Park.

After and early morning breakfast, our tourist driver guide will take you for a city tour where you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial. The Kigali Genocide Memorial has been and continues to be a place of remembrance and learning, to honor victims of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. Later embark on a community walk at Nyamirambo where you will have an opportunity to enjoy local Rwandan delicacies at the Nyamirambo Women’s Center.

After a wonderful lunch you will travel to Volcanoes National Park while enjoying the stunning views of a country with a thousand hills.

Volcanoes National Park borders Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. Five of the eight volcanoes in the Virunga Mountains can be found here. The volcanoes and highlands of the park are covered in lush rainforest and bamboo (a favorite meal of the gorillas). Despite the fact that its famous for mountain Gorilla, Volcanoes national park also has plenty of other wildlife roaming around: buffaloes, bushbucks, golden monkeys, hyenas, numerous bird species, and some elephants. Day 3:              Volcanoes National Park.

Set out on a trek in lush, jungle-covered hills with a park ranger to track a unique and endangered species—the golden monkey. Observe these playful, curious creatures in their natural habitat; Visit the public exhibit and enjoy immersive activities, like a 360-degree theatre and replica of Dian Fossey’s original cabin before meeting with some of the organization’s gorilla experts. Day 5:              Volcanoes National Park / Akagera National Park.

Arise in the morning and travel to Akagena National Park with a lunch stopover in Kigali After Lunch you will continue East wards to Akagera National Park. This park was once devastated by armed conflicts that led to many years of misuse and neglect of this eastern part of Rwanda.

Through Dedication and hard work by the local community with the help of the government and African Parks, Akagera National Park offers remarkable stories. They have had great success in reducing poaching in the park. This is so much so that wildlife populations have risen by almost 50%, and there has been no recorded loss of high-value species (elephant, rhinos and lions) to poaching since 2010, or from when they were reintroduced. You will have an opportunity to learn about Learn more about this fascinating conservation success story in a behind-the-scenes visit to the African Parks headquarters. Akagera Game Lodge.

Day 6:              Akagera National Park

After a wonderful night you will wake a to a sumptuous breakfast before embarking on on the game drive where you will expect to see the “big five.” Keep an eye out for lions, buffalo, hyenas, and antelopes grazing freely here. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation or take a dip in the pool. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along Lake Ihema, keep an eye on  hippos and crocodiles. Spot more wildlife, such as elephants and buffalo, as they gather at the lakeshore to drink water. And watch out for a variety of birds including herons, shoebill storks, fish eagles, and kingfishers. dinner and overnight.

Akagera Game Lodge.

Day 7:              Akagera National Park / Kigali.

Before you depart for Kigali you will head out for your final safari drive in the early hours when the animals especially the nocturnals are still active. Expect to see giraffes, Gazelles, impalas, baboons, Butchels Zebras, leopards and lions. Return to the lodge for lunch then later head back to Kigali.

Day1. Arrive And Transfer To Ruhengeri

On your arrival at the airport at any time and the driver guide will take to Ruhengeri where Volcanoes national park is located. In case time allows, you will take a short city excursion where you will visit places like the former presidential museum, the local markets the Kigali genocide memorial grounds and many more. Arrive at the Park Lodge and this will be the end of the day.

Day2. Gorilla Trekking In Volcanoes National Park

The driver-guide will take you to the park office after your breakfast and you will be advised to pack a snack and bottle of drinking water. You will attend a briefing where you will get to cover different points like the guidelines to follow while in the forest, cross-checking of the gorilla permits, and all questions about the forest and its inhabitants will be covered and talked on this point. You will head into the forest to begin the search and you will be able to spot other wildlife such as varvet monkeys, bird species and much more. On locating the gorilla family, you will spend an hour while in their presence as you enjoy their behaviors hence creating memories. After, you will head back to the lodge for lunch which will be followed by an optional activity of visiting the Iby’iwacu cultural villa where you will learn about the Rwandese culture.

Day3. Transfer To Gisenyi Lake Kivu

You will have breakfast depending on your choice about the menu provided and then transfer to visit the museum at Musanze where you will learn about the gorilla conservation introduced during the time of Dian Fossey. This lady was an America researcher who save a good number of mountain gorillas from being poached. Later you will visit the caves on your way to Gisenyi where Lake Kivu is located. This lake is on the border of DR Congo and Rwanda and you will check in your accommodation site on you arrive as you relax while having a great view of the lake.

Day4. Full Day Gisenyi

Be served with breakfast and then spend the rest of the day in the town of Gisenyi. You will take a boat cruise where you will spot different birds and take park in fishing. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery covered by Blue skies, islands and much more. You will take a swimming experience in case your fun of swimming, and in the evening, you will visit the local markets where you will encounter different fruits and foods sold here. In the evening, you will return to the hotel for your dinner.

Day5. Transfer Back To Kigali International Airport

In the morning, breakfast will be served which will be followed by a transfer to Kigali City. Depending on your flight time, you will be dropped off at the airport and this will be the end of the 5 Days Rwanda Gorillas & Lake Kivu.
